Poetry

We had our in class poetry competition on Friday and I was so impressed with the hard work the children put in to learning their poems. Everyone read their poem in front of a large audience (our buddy class) and did a fantastic job. Mrs De Vries had a tough time choosing three winners and she had to review the footage on the iPad. The results are: 1st place - Alfie 2nd place - Aoife 3rd place - Charlotte P A special mention goes to Charles for putting in a great effort and to Tane for most improved. Well done everyone! Alfie and Aoife will represent Room 18 in the hall on Thursday.

Gymnastics Day 1

Here are some pictures of gymnasts in action.  There was lots of safe jumping, roly polies, balancing and swinging.  I wonder what tomorrow's activities will be.  Thanks to Sue and Yoko for helping out.

Friday afternoon fun

The children have had a fantastic Friday afternoon!  We had our first basic facts test and everyone really tried their best.  I have marked and sent home the results so you know what to work on at home.  We will have our next test on Friday next week.

Miss Taylor had the class planning, designing and decorating their own hero mask and they look great.

The fun doesn't stop there!  Miss Taylor and I discovered that some children in Room 18 have very ticklish feet.  For art the children had one foot painted red and black.  The finished product will be a ladybird.  A few children are yet to be tickled so Miss Taylor will work with these children next week.
